St. Kizito’s Catholic Parish was agog recently when the Parish Laity Council Chairman, Mr. John Eloko and his dear wife, Mrs. Florence Eloko dedicated their son to God after searching for the precious gift for close to nine years.
The dedication of baby Emmanuel Evasam which attracted almost all parishioners of St. Kizito’s parish as well as well-wishers saw the jubilating family of Mr. Eloko dancing to the Altar of God in thanksgiving with their supporters.
In his remarks, the Parish Priest of St Jude’s Zuba, Rev. Fr. Ikechukwu who was on a visit to St. Kizito’s Parish to anchor the New Year Retreat thanked God for the family as he blessed the baby with special anointing.
Eulogizing the couple’s patience, the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Michael Ngoka, CM was thankful to God for a prayer answered and thanked the Laity Council Chairman for his dedication, commitment and sacrifice to ensure that the parish makes a meaningful progress with regard to Laity activities.
Speaking to our reporter, Mr. Eloko who was visibly overwhelmed with excitement thanked God for answering their prayer point of another baby after nine years.
“After my first child, my daughter Augusta; the devil wanted to rob us of the joy of bearing another baby after nine years but our God has dealt a dirty blow to the evil machinations of the enemies,” he explained.
In her reaction, mother of the baby, Mrs. Florence Eloko remained grateful to God while thanking all their well-wishers particularly members of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Choir Group who electrified the house with glorious melodies to identify with her as a true member of the group.
Highpoint of the celebration was a reception put together by the family where friends and well-wishers identified with the family and shared in their joy.
