FR. GABRIEL OYAKA C.S.SpThe Department of Social Communications – Archdiocese of Abuja - convened a Press Conference, today, at the Daughter of Divine Retreat and Conference Center (DRACC) Lugbe where the Archbishop of Abuja, His Eminence Cardinal John Onaiyekan and the Hierarchy of Congregation of the Holy Ghost addressed the Press on the disappearance of Rev. Fr. Gabriel Oyaka, C.S.Sp, who has been missing since 7th September, 2015.

On the 7th of September, 2015, Fr. Gabriel Oyaka, C.S.Sp. left the house of the Congregation of the Holy Ghost located at Katampe Extension, Abuja, on transit to Onitsha, Anambra State. However, Fr. Gabriel never arrived at his destination, and nothing was heard from him. Upon Investigation by the Nigerian Police Force, it was reported that his car was found intact by the roadside, with his cell phone in the car, but he was nowhere to be found. His car was then moved to the Police station in Okene, Kogi State.

A mass was organised by the leadership of the congregation of the Holy Spirit, known as the Holy Ghost Fathers, in Abuja, which held today, 19th January 2017, at the Daughters of Divine Love Retreat and Conference Center (Dracc) in Ako Estate, Airport Road, New Lugbe, Abuja. A delegation from Rome was led by Fr. Bede Okwuije, C.S.Sp, Assistant Superior General of the Congregation. The mother of the missing priest and family also attended the celebration.

According to the Press Report made by the Holy Ghost Fathers, their longing for the return of Fr. Gabriel Oyaka has remained undaunted.
