Fr Partrick AlumukuChildren are described as special gifts and blessings from God for which parents must remain eternally grateful to God for having them.

Director of the Department of Social Communications, Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, Very Rev. Fr. Patrick Tor Alumuku stated this on the occasion of the presentation and dedication of Master Chimelueze and Chizaramekpere Onyekwelu, twin Children of Onyekwelu to God recently at St Martin’s parish Mabushi.

Fr. Alumuku expressed gratitude to God for many good things He has done in the lives of the parishioners of St. Martin and encouraged the couple to remain faithful and hopeful in God.

He thanked the parishioners for their initiative to present the children to God, committing them to God, seeking God’s prayers as well as blessing and guidance on behalf of their children.

In a chat with our correspondence, Barr. Ugockukwu Onyejiuto thanked God for the life of his friend, Chidiebere Onyekwelu, whom he said he has known for many years and could attest to the many favours and blessing the family has received through God’s love, kindness and mercy.

He stated that the celebrant has every cause to appreciate God’s goodness and that only God will take glory. “I celebrate and pray that good things will continue to locate the family in Jesus’ Name,” he prayed.

Mr. Onyeakwelu appreciated God for remembering his family particularly for his wife, whom he described as his backbone.

He thanked his former Parish Priests, Fr. Alumuku and his successor Fr. Alex as well as the visiting Priest for being part of the celebration and sharing the joy of the family.

“God has given us many gifts freely, some people are struggling to have children but He gave us these children without any effort other than his kindness, he has favored us. I am honored that my Priests did not just handover the babies to God but were present at the reception,” he said.
